I have this game screen here:
    http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/5173/screenor6.png

It has a size of 804x512. I don't want the image size to increase by much. But, I need to get a dirty grey thorn metal surrouding it on all four sides so that it blends better with the black background of the page:
    http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/5893/screenblackvl1.png

Here is the challenge. The thorn metal should have a color that would match the game screen to the background black very nicely. It should make the screen look pretty much like a part of the entire black background. AND, most importantly, the final picture should still be a perfect rectangle. That is no jagged edges or transparencies.

If you have any other creative ideas for the blending also, go ahead and do it.

For now, I will put the deadline as 24 hours from the time of this post.

ok, so we are not allowed to put any graphics in the black border, am i correct?

do you want the fence to be like a boxing ring? so 3/2 "ropes", or a singe wire?

Yes Dietros, something like that. But, I want them to not increase the image size by too much and have a squarish outer border without anything around the barbed wire. Would that be possible? That is, the barbed wire should look like a nice twisted wire without any cuts but in reality the outer surface should be just plane. Also, the end knots of the barbed wire should show only on it and on the inside thus keeping the square outer border while keeping the image perfectly rectangular.

I like it a lot. :) Especially how it is not the same pattern repeated over and over again. You have tried to make it natural. Nice. You should add more such touches.

Can you try to reduce the outer black border even more possible? Make it the minimum you can without losing the visual of the barbed wire. Also, try lightening up the barbed wire one notch up.

EDIT: I actually think it would be better to use a barbed wire a little darker that the picture I linked to. But, make sure it is not too dark (closer to black than to the original color)

Its nice but it is pretty cartoonish. It does not go with the natural renders like the dead cow, blast craters, etc. If you can make a similar one, but, real barbed wire, thinner so it does not cut into as much of the original, and differing patterns of the barbed wire making it look like a real no-repeat wire wound around the entire arena, it would be good.

The color is perfect. The upper, left and bottom borders are perfect. The right seems to have been cropped too much. BUT, you seemed to have changed the barbed wires and used the one I posted. Result being a highly repetitive border. :( Plus, the wires at the notches come in way too much.

RNHalawi and tGriff, that is not how I want it. I want to actually see the barbed wire, not just the shadows. I want to see a good double barbed wire all around it. But, I want it made so that the outer border is almost a perfect rectangle. Simple. The closest so far is Dietros'.
