Funny stuff. Here is some more comedy gold. Adam Carolla interviews California's Lt. Governor and likely our future Governor. This is what happens when common sense meets a career politician.

It is hard to decide who is more stupid, the guy in the video or morons who support such nonsense.

The stupid vote goes to the people who make laws limiting magazines to 7 rounds from 10. And to think, people pay these idiots a lot of money to sit and think of these laws...

Arming morons with guns doesn´t protect innocent people either. I repeat the question: Who is stupider, people who produce such nonsense or people who believe in it? You have my vote. :)

You are wrong. It is the gun lobby who pays and scares these people to not think and instead of real solutions, come with ridiculous ideas that while it looks like they are doing something, it will not hinder the gun sales in any way. ;)

The gun lobby is nothing more than 5 million+ americans united in a cause. If 5 million americans believe more gun control isn't the answer, then they will listen because they value the votes. All politicians want is to be elected. They don't want to piss off a large group of americans. They have the support and money to fight gun control. If liberals werent busy wining about the big bad NRA and got organized like the NRA, maybe the gun control crowd could gain some influence.

Besides, the answers the dems are coming up with have nothing to do with the nra. They come up with these ideas because they actually believe the policy will work. For example, banning assault weapons. Even though a tiny percentage of all gun crime involves any kind of rifle, they insist that this is going to save us. I guess someone should tell them that something like 98% of gun crime involves a handgun. And out of all gun deaths in the US each year, about 60% is suicide. So when you limit magazine rounds and ban semi-automatic rifles, you essentially do nothing about gun deaths.

There are people making some common sense changes. In SC a local town has moved the office of one of it's police officers into a school. So now instead of filling out paperwork at some police station, they officer is stationed at a school. During the day when not doing paperwork he patrols the school and assists with emergencies. The best part is that it costs absolutely $0 to put that officer in the school since they just moved the office.

More "common sense" talk while standing in front of victim parents, from the loser we call our President.

I love listening to this moron talk about "common sense"...

Would a background check stopped the Newtown lunatic from stealing his mothers guns?

There is no common sense in any of the gun laws produced this year. If they were common sense, it wouldn't matter if the tragedy was fresh in our minds. The reason they are frustrated is because the emotional response to the recent shootings is wearing off. They no longer have the "knee jerk" advantage. If you polled a few days after the Newtown shooting, I bet you would find more support for strict gun laws than you would today. That doesn't equal common sense. That means emotions are high and logic is blurred. If they couldn't rush the law into place while people were still mourning, they can't get it passed ever. They know that, we know that, and it's hilarious watching them blame the NRA.

It's not the NRA or GOP that have stopped the progress of new gun laws. It's the Democrats that have decided to throw out the AWB, which was the main goal of anti-gun lawmakers. If you are anti-gun or believe some gun control is needed, you should be upset at Democrats. If they truly wanted to reduce gun violence in the US, they would have targeted suicides and handguns. They did the exact opposite, attacking rifles and legal gun owners. It's a fact that only around 2% of gun crimes involve a rifle. It's also a fact that 60% of gun deaths are suicides. Banning assault weapons or limiting magazines (which has already been studied and the FBI concluded that it did not work) won't make even a dent in the number of people killed by guns.

What I want to see that is common sense, is attempts to figure out how to get illegal guns out of criminals hands. Another common sense solution is increased security for schools. It doesn't even have to cost money. Let teachers carry, abolish "gun free zones" in pubic places like college campuses. Make the world less friendly to a mass shooter. It is a fact that mass shooters almost always give up at the first sign of resistance. Let the public be more resistant. When you put up barriers to legal guns, it attracts the people who want to inflict maximum damage without risking capture or harm in the process.

It's simple, really - Democrats in the midwest can't vote for an anti-gun bill and still get re-elected.

So these midwest Democrats had a choice - do, in the words of the anti-gun lobby, the, *ahem* "moral, right thing to do for the children", *cough* *cough* - or get re-elected.

Don't worry, I'm sure the cowardly Dems will find a way to blame it on the Repubs.

I wish he would deliver actual facts to support his gun control laws. Here, I'll help out by revealing the true nature of gun crime in America. From the CDC: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr61/nvsr61_06.pdf

Intentional self-harm (suicide) by discharge of firearms 2011: 19,766
Assault (homicide) by discharge of firearms 2011: 11,101

64% of gun deaths are suicides. Magazine bans, assault weapons bans, and universal background checks do not address 2/3 of the problem. Source: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr61/nvsr61_06.pdf

Of the 36% that are murdered with a gun, only 3% are murdered with a rifle of any kind. More people are murdered each year with fists, blunt objects, and knifes than with rifles. Source: http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/uc...s.-2011/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8

So, the facts are there for you to enjoy. The major gun laws that Obama has pushed over the last 4 months only affect a maximum of 3% of gun crime. He has failed to address 64% of the problem, which is mental health related (suicide).

You cannot lie about statistics from Obama's own administration. You cannot dodge the facts with emotional stories about children dying. The liberal agenda is to disarm the public to gain more government control, not save children. If liberals were worried about gun crime, don't you think they would address 97% of gun crime, instead of focusing on a tiny fraction of the overall problem?
