$20 DVD Artwork Competition - PayPal

This competition is to create the DVD Artwork (an image that will go ON the DVD) for the FreeApps DVD. Please make use of the existing FreeApps logos/images/icons at http://www.freeapps.co.uk

The specs for the artwork are available at http://www.ineedmedia.co.uk/Artwork_Specifications/Artwork_specifications.html, which include Photoshop templates.

The winner will be picked next weekend, and paid via PayPal.

The gray area on the outter diameter of the dvd will be the actual dvd and not a background color (if possible).



For some reason that color is severely different than that of what is in the actual file and previews from my windows folder.

Here are the colors:
Blue: #204769
Orange: #F06624
CMYK Mode

Edit Notes:
Thinking of skewing the text to make it italics and will fix the stroke on the box so it is flushly aligned.

 

Mike: I like the concept, but could you make use of the existing logo and graphics from the site?

 

i cant download the spec but here what i did without it

 

Icons used from the website, cleared white space and erased/blured the edges.

orrifi0: I really like your design. What was the problem with the template? I'd need the image to be based on the template, not only to make it the correct dimensions, but I think there are also colour constraints.

Lemezo: Good idea using the icons. I don't like the shape in the middle or around the edge though.

 

What's wrong with the shape around the edge, I made it so it looks like a sprocket (utilities). Well I give up anyway, if you don't like this over oriffiri0's design you most probably won't like any other design of mine.

There haven't been any new submissions for a while so I may as well call an end to the competition now. Offiri0 is the winner! Thanks to everyone else who submitted a design though.

Offiri0 can you supply me with the logo as the PSD template. Could you also change the main text to "FreeApps DVD", and the text at the bottom to: "Free Applications and Essential Software Utilities for PC, Mac and Linux(newline)www.freeapps.co.uk"?

Too bad you didn't choose my design, would have looked like a quality cd package. Now it looks like all the other 2000~ software cd's I have.
