20$ + 20$ 1-page web site contest

    Hello all,

i need to make a surprise to a friend of mine who is a car mechanic. I just found out that he is running a crap website and i would like to offer a web site make-over as a christmas present.

He just got my car to have it serviced and he will be back in 6 hours. So this contest will run at most for 6 hours unless there are no submissions or there are submissions of low quality. In such a case i will hold the contest for a couple more days till a winner is picked up.

I am the client and contest runner as well so feel confident that i want to close this contest as soon as possible (it wont be abandoned), so a winner will be picked up for sure (its not gonna be a waste of anyone's time).

Now, the contest has two parts: a one page design and a logo design.

For the page design i think we should really avoid dark schemes like black etc...Maybe something lighter in typical light web schemes...You have to use the original content in the web site (url is given below) plus any other material you may find appropriate. Please use only high res images and dont use any of the images of the web site as they are all crap really.

For the logo design, i am open to any design effort including colored drawings (not sure if drawing is the exact term).

Feel free to make your submissions on both parts but i reserve the right to pick separate winners for each part (so no hard feelings ok?).

There will be at least one winner for one part (so minimum prize will be 20$).

Plz, take a look at his original website (plz dont laugh)....

    www.m e l s m o t o r s.co.uk (the in-between spaces are there for an obvious reason, please remove them from the url).

    Immediate payments in Paypal only.

I will be online constantly and monitoring the thread...

    In summary:
Part A: one page web design
    Part B: logo design
    Winners? Yes, at least one
Min prize - 100% : 10 $ (1 winner for one part of the project)
Max prize: 20 $ (full project prize distributed among 1 or 2 contesters depending on who has made the best submission for each part).

Deliverables: Layered photoshop file or any other format that the design was originally done. No flattened versions plz. I need to be able to modify it in the future if i need to.

Please note that if the prizes go to 2 winners then one of them will have to make some slight color modifications to his work to make it match with the work of the other one.

    Many thanks everyone:)

He he, dear natkhatgirl, if you visit my friend's web site you will see that its far from complicated. Its quite straightforward.

I just want to make him a present with a make-up version of his existing one. I do understand where your comment is coming from and i do hope i could raise it upwards. But as i said this is a gift from me to him so my wallet cant really afford much. I am quite easygoing and i do value sincere efforts.

I myself cant even draw a single straight line in photoshop :) But even if i could, i much prefer the fun of running it as a contest !

First of all its "offense" not offnce or what ever, second of all , 20$ are enough for this simple design , stop being greedy.

    It's 'offence' in England. :)

Good luck with the contest, the prize is too low for myself to enter but hopefully you will get some nice entries!

Ok guys, i think i messed up. In the contest description, in the summary section it should say Minimum price 20$ and Maximum price 40$. Which i think is well within the normal everyday, simple contests usually taking place over here.

If you saw my post and thought it wasnt worth your time then I take all the blame for messing the summary part of the description.

I should be more careful in the future.

Ps: IQDesigns if you have indeed started working on the contest plz send me your sample so far. If its something i can use i am happy to declare you winner of the contest for either the website part or for the logo part. I am not a timewaster and i wanna everyone know so :).
