Hi one of my sites got massive hits in a couple of hours. Around 20,000.

    Hostgator has shut me down.

Does anyone have any dedicated server recommendations?

Before you decide double check all terms and conditions. Also you need to know how much traffic per month do you need. For example leaseweb.com gives you 500GB for 39E. What will happened after you reach 500GB? Will they shut down your server or only decrease speed.
Also some hosting companies calls their services "Flat" but when you go above xxxGB they decrease your speed to only 10Mbit/s

Don't forget to tell us what did you decide :)

I second that. Best hosting company I've ever delt with.

i recently had to move to a dedicated server my self because my site was becoming to large to fast are you using allot of bandwidth ? what about hard drive space ?
im currently with godaddy and use just over 500gig a month to add another 500gig it only costs $20, some hosting places over change after you go over your allocated bandwidth netdepot for example charges $150 if you go over as they charge in 1terrabyte blocks however if you use allot of space they are ideal with cheap fast servers and cheap hard drives that have no reoccurring cost.

Ususally, overages are charged as $10.50/GB - $1/GB

That bills you $200-$500/500 GB additional usage
