I found a domain I might like, with 10 000 global searches per month, it is 2 years old and I can have it for about $20-22. However I'm sure nobody wants that keyword so I can register it later for $5 for the first year. Is it worth paying extra now to secure those 2 years?
Does the domain have any pagerank? It sounds like it might be listed on a DynaDot or GoDaddy auction..Anywho, if it's an exact match .com for a keyword that has 10k global monthly searches it would be worth reg'ing and developing. Since you have plans to develop it that 2yrs couldn't hurt for such a small extra cost. If you decide to sell it down the line that extra 2yrs could mean something to a potential buyer. I would say it's worth it. You can secure the name now and not risk losing it to a drop catcher and the extra 2yrs certainly won't hurt. Also, if the domain has PR then it shouldn't loss any PR either.
Yes its godaddy. However there is no rank and no back links whatsoever. The only reason I am interested is that I( used to ) have an exact keyword for a blogspot blog. I see your point that extra 24 months of age might mean a lot more than $15 to a potential buyer on Flippa or so, but if there any advantage for age as SEO goes ? I have a .info domain that I got when it was 12-13 years old and i didnt see any advantage, even though all other domains of the same keyword ( 45 000 global ) were parked. And thank you very much for your kind reply.
if was a 10 or 15 years old domain who was an active website all that years then this will add value 2 years old is NOTHING buy it only if you really like the domain with out think about the age
