    Hello all

I have had a hotel affiliate site setup for about two years now.

    - I have optimised it to hell for with SEO techniques (keywords etc)
    - it has a sitemap (which has been submitted and accepted by google)
    - when using the 'site:' prefix in google search, google shows that it is in it's directory.
    - Page rank of 2

So why does it not come up in search listings - not even the first 10 pages?!?!

In MSN, Yahoo and ASK it does great...

    Here is the website: http://www.sussexhotelguide.co.uk

    Any advice..???

    thanks

To increase page rank you need to get one way inbound links for your site with off page SEO.

i've got page's with lower page ranks to the top of search results. is it because other pages above me have higher pagerank?

how would you suggest getting more inbound links?

    many thanks
    Ben

Just because a site has higher page rank doesnt mean it will rank higher in the SERPs.

Take a look at your competitors sites and try to figure out what they are doing better than you. Analyze their inbound links and on page content. It could be that those sites are just older than yours, but keep trucking along and you will eventually beat them...

    LINKS LINKS LINKS :)

Getting a higher page rank will not necessarily make your site rank better. You need more quality incoming links.

Are you submitted to as many free directories as you can find? Do you post (quality posts) in forums using your URL in a signature?

You are probably not optimizing for suitable keywords. Read the case study in my signature, I talk about keyword research in it.

brd1984, I'll pm you about this, I've got one or two tips but I'm going to use one of my own sites as an example and I dont want to put the url here.

edit - i've pm'ed, but just noticed something else.

www.sussexhotelguide.betastudios.co.uk/travel/travelbycoach.htm is listed in google, as are other pages on betastudios. If betastudios is your site I would remove those pages from there, its not doing you any favours having duplicate content like that.
