2 weeks old site vanished from Google - Googlebot on 24/7

Hey, yesterday my two weeks old site vanished from Google. Using the site: operator shows 0 results, and traffic dropped to zero.

Yet in my logs Googlebot is accessing my pages at a very good rate, very similar to when the site started growing.

I'm fairly experienced in SEO, been doing it for years with success, mostly.

Does this mean I am banned or is it temporary because the site is new? Does Googlebot's activity on my website signal anything?

I don't see any chances to crawl rate / crawl errors or message from Google in Webmaster Tools.

I cannot mention site name, sorry.

    Anybody has a clue? Thanks.

its too early to set the alarm.
give it at least a month more and keep working on marketing. i am sure it would be included.

I think you have experienced the Google sandbox effect. New sites tend to do really well for a few weeks, then google realizes the site is new, and sandboxes you for a while. Its kind of like a probation period in which your site does not appear in the search results, especially for competitive searches. The age of a domain seems to be very important these days, especially in competitive searches.

Is your website listed on Google Local Places ? What sort of business it is ? I would also like to know if you did something new or unusual as far as SEO is concerned.

    Thanks for the replies.

@ Mascot, it is not - cannot comment on business type sorry, orders of the co-owner.

I didn't do anything unusual, pretty much like every other site I have.

@ Matt, if a site is sandboxed are you sure the site: operator shows 0 results?

I guess it simply means you build link too quick, and you site will back to index later.

(if you server is ok, and no blackhat trick on your page)

Did you check if you website is still indexed with the site operator?

This is absolutely normal as your website is new, but don't stress as you will see it back on Google soon. I have a new website now that has been jumping all over the place from 3rd pg to 1st pg to nowhere to be seen. I was even on the 1st position on the 1st page and i thought I had finally achieved my goal, but only to be disappointed the next day because I could not find it anywhere.

But i know its a matter of time and ill be back on top :)
