Google is not preferring the the 2 way linkbuilding / reciprocal link building. Because this type of link building has been made by the mutual agreement. Google is preferring the natural links.
You must emphasis on building one way links rather than doing 2 ways link building as it have no reputation in google nowadays.

Yes that was worth years ago, but present algorithm for google don't consider reciprocal/two way link exchanging. Other ways wastage of time. Better go for one way link exchange.
I am not sure.. but it would helps to drive some traffic and get good back link from there. Suggestible process.
have to try for three way link building, search engine will also consider this type of links as natural link, not sure but many people are doing this type of link exchange, and getting good result
Not any more. @ way link building as well as link exchange is don't counted anymore as a quality backlink even it's counted now under gray hat. So better to avoid it and make dofollow one way backlinks.
Isee - the whole problem with one way link exchange is finding those places to get them - the research is very time consuming - Yah i do blog daily on other platforms - still Google want to see links from youre domain coming from multiple platforms ......
No, I don't recommend reciprocal linking or 3 way linking as a link-building search engine optimization strategy at all these days. None of the search engines like this type of link-building. This was very effective a few years ago though.
I don't agree with most people in regards to reciprocal linking, I think it does help. However since the latest "Panda" Update from google, I think those links are not counted anymore.
One way back linking is the way to go as they count more towards relevancy. Reciprocal linking will get you some immediate results, but in the long run, you could be penalized if the site you link back to is identified as a spam site or a link farm. Best to just go about building back links naturally.

reciprocal links are still good for google. most article directories require back link so it is better to have reciprocal links than no back links at all.
Two way link building is not as good as one way link building. In link exchanging you will transfer the link juice which you are getting from the other, but it can increase traffic to your website.
Two way link is good for seo if both sites that are giving links to each other have relevancy to each other. For ex. if two site are related to pet insurance and pet food than its better to give establish a link to both of them. Otherwise to establish a three way link or one way link is always more better than two way link.
