    Hi there,

I have two versions of the same site, one is for the US market and is in American English, hosted in America. The other one will be in British English, hosted in Britain.

Is there a way I can link them, or make it obvious to google they are from the same company, so that only the relevant ones appear in their own countries serps?

    Thanks for your help,

    Neil

Surely that won't fix the duplicate content issue though?

Well, this will not be considered as duplicate content. Moreover you can cloak pages in this case (this is completely ethical in this geotargeting) Suppose you are targeting German and French audience, so, display german or french page to respective bots.

Thanks for your reply, so in your opinion would it be acceptable to have one site targeted to Europe and the other one targeted to everywhere?

I know it's not exactly focussed geo-targeting but the parent site gets business from all over the world and wouldn't want to sacrifice any, although they have given us license in Europe.

Would someone like to explain why I got an infraction for this (week old) thread? As far as I'm aware my question falls under search engine optimization, I'd like to see a better suggestion.

You can use different content for different sites, I guess using the same content on both sites will cause plagiarism issues.
