2 Useful Adsense Tools for the Novice Wordpress Blogger

Lately I've been reading a lot here about Adsense newcomers using Wordpress as their choice of blogging software to begin their Adsense adventures. I did this myself, and I know there was about half a year where I never made use of any of the available plugins that made blogging, and specifically blogging for Adsense dollars, easier. So, in an effort to help those who are starting out cut down on the learning curve that it took me, here are 2 very useful Wordpress plugins that should aid you in your quest to make money with Adsense.

(For the record, "plugins" are add-ons to Wordpress (a blogging software that can be downloaded for free here) that allows the typical blog to do things it was not designed to do, such as adding Adsense codes to posts, etc. Basically, they are hacks to improve Wordpress, and are sanctioned by everyone -- re: they are not illegal in the least. While you can do any of these things by modifying your blog's templates yourself, the more novice among you may find that difficult, as it does require a little knowledge of php lest you risk completely destroy your template and, of course, your blog. Plugins, then, are designed for the novice, as they are little helpful jewels meant to be "plugged in" and do all the hard work (like coding) for you.)

The first plugin that I have found to be of vital importance to Adsense bloggers is Adsense Deluxe. Adsense Deluxe allows you to insert your code in any part of your article without having to constantly copy/paste your codes each time you write a new article. Whenever you want to add your Adsense code to a specific part of your article, all you do is insert a small string of code, such as "<--adsense-->" and voila, your Adsense banner will show up wherever you put that string. (Download this plugin here)

Another great, invaluable plugin is Mighty Adsense, which works in much the same way as Adsense Deluxe, but instead of having to manually enter the code string into the body of your past, you enter the codes once in the Mighty Adsense submenu, and voila, your code will show up either at the bottom or top (your choice) of every one of your posts. And because the makers of Mighty Adsense knows that Adsense only allows 3 ad units per page, they have of course limited the plugin to working only 3 times, so only the first three posts on a page will have Adsense ads, thus saving you from a TOS violation. What's most beneficial about Mighty Adsense is that you can now monetize every section of your blog, from the front page that lists all your recent entries to your category archives, which, like the front page, now can have Adsense banners under or above the first three posts at the very top. (Download this plugin here)

What's great about both Adsense Deluxe and Mighty Adsense is that changing up the codes are a breeze. Basically, you open up the submenu and plug in any changes to the code that meets your demand. The banners in the posts will automatically reflect the change instantly. That's it.

Also, you can easily use Adsense Deluxe in conjunction with Mighty Adsense, especially if your blog doesn't have single post templates (some just have main index templates). For instance, you can have a banner show up in the middle of the article instead of at the top or at the bottom (since Mighty Adsense only allows you to place your ad either at the top or at the bottom), and then you can have Mighty Adsense place a second banner at the bottom (or top) in addition to the banner in the middle.

Some additiona information about Wordpress and plugins: You can find a wealth of plugins (all free, all created by Wordpress users for fellow Wordpress users to use without a single catch) in this Wordpress Database; all plugins come with very detailed instructions on how to use them (and for the most part, if you've mastered (or know a lot already) about using Wordpress, plugin work is a breeze); plus, almost all of the plugin authors keep daily blogs, where you can go to ask for help if you should run into trouble implementing their plugins. Wordpress designers are some of the most amazingly helpful people you'll find, so don't hesitate to ask. And remember -- It's all free! I highly recommend you take a moment to browse the Wordpress plugin database -- it really is an amazing place, filled with things that will make your blogging life so, so much easier.

Good luck in your Adsense adventures, fellow WP bloggers!

You can see here for more information on Wordpress plugins, including installation, usages, etc. It should be relatively easy to use if you've been using Wordpress for a while.

I use the Mighty Adsense plugin, I love it. I don't like too many ads on my site, so I have it set to just show up at the beginning of the first post on the main page, and then all individual blog post pages. I recommend it! Haven't tried Adsense Deluxe yet though.

Ok i would like to also share something before i go to bed..

To make our journey becomes more wonderful, why not consider using Post Teaser.

This tiny script will make a summary of your post in the frontpage that suits the option you set for Post Teaser at the Options page, so :-

1 or 2 raw code inside my template

1 inside the post but hidden by Post Teaser, make sure you put the ad using Adsense Deluxe at the bottom of your post, or if you write long enough, put in the middle should be safe since you can set Post Teaser to only show X words at the begin, the ads only shows up once visitors click on Read more links..

So, 3 ads, still not violate TOS but maximize the use of ads placement brilliantly.

Download script here, < Right Click - Save As .. >

Also, make a good look on your site and will not annoy visitors to scroll down to earth to read your entire frontpage..

For demo, take a look at my sig, the beauty page..

Very valuable information! Thanks jackburton2006. I tried the Adsense Deluxe plugin, which said, 'Cannot load adsense-deluxe.php'. So, I guess I'm forced to use Mighty Adsense and hope it would work. Well, if not for this plugins, I know how it would be to post ads, everytime.

    Great info, thanks again!

What version of Wordpress are you running? I've never encountered problems loading the Adsense-Deluxe.
