Hey guys, I've been asked alot of questions lately from noobs on how to check if a website is dofollow and nofollow. The easiest way that you can do this is simply add this plugin for firefox called nodofollow. This will show you all of the dofollow links, and all of the nofollow links. The nofollow links will be highlighted in pinkish red, and the dofollow links will be highlighted in blue. For example, I wanted to find out if the bing.com/community website is dofollow because I want to start getting backlinks from bing's high authority website. So I go install the plugin (http://www.zacharyfox.com/blog/free-tools/nodofollow-a-firefox-extension) and I right click on the website and click "nodofollow". This will highlight the links that are nofollow and the links that are dofollow. This allows you to you to check if the comments posted by other bing community members will be dofollow and indeed they are! Great!!!! Now how can I get backlinks off of Bing? Simple! Simply login, add your comments, and make sure you have your website + anchor text on your signature. There you go ... simplicity at it's best. You now have backlinks coming from bing.com onto your website. Sometimes the most simplest methods are the most effective. Hope you enjoyed this, and for more methods like this, join my mailing list at blackhatguide.net! Cheers =]
Thanks for the information. I just created my account with Bing and made my first comment post. I created my signature however on the comment that I made my signature does not show up. My question is the signature only good for forum posts or does it work on blog comments to? Thanks, Mike
Mike, it should show up for both. I know that the blogs show up just fine, I haven't tried the forums yet.
You could do that, but who likes viewing HTML code? I would rather easily look at the nice blue and pink colors for nofollow and dofollow backlinks The whole point is simplicity.
I just setup a blog post on bing, hope to see some great results! Thanks again for helping noobs like me out haha
You could make this Blackhat by creating a bot via imacros that keeps posting within the bing community or blog =]
On an older version of Firefox there was a method to permanently make it display no-follow links in red. Since I upgraded I never went back to that method because you can't turn it off....Thanks for the tip on Bing, I didn't know that.
Yeah webmystic, the thing about this plugin is that you can turn it off by simply right clicking and checking that checkbox. It's real simple, and it takes away the frustration and annoyance of having it constantly show up all the time.
I've found the donofollow addin invaluable. Often forget to turn it off and it's fascinating to see which links are not follow. Thanks for the pointer re Bing -- which is why I'm here in the first place. How do you set up a signature in Bing? I cannot see it anywhere Cheers David
