    Hi,

I see a lot of sites with different title meta tag on the engine and site.
What is it exactly? the importance of the anchor? page inserted?

Its possible the site changed their title tag but the engine did not update the new title yet. This tag is very important.

Google recognize around 70 words from your tiitle tags and Also you have to know that having a unique with a clarity meaning tittle tag will help you in SEO
what you mean with the importance of the anchor? , if you mean about the anchor text , is very important to select good anchor text in your internal site to direct to another content

It is because search engines take their own time to update the listing...if you have seen a site title that is recently changed by a webmaster...that change is not likely to be seen instantly in search results....thus it may look like there are 2 different titles of a same page.

Other reason can be DMOZ or yahoo directory listing...if a site is listed in DMOZ with different title than sites html...then Google may show the DMOZ title in search results...same with yahoo search and yahoo directory listing! (one can avoid it though by using noodp & noydir meta tags)

    Hi, French Directory

In my own experiences, adding extra title meta tags to your pages would not really be helpful for SEO efforts. The only right way is to use the title tags for your pages. And, optimizing your title tags according to the page contents would be OK. :)

    Have a nice day,

It could be one of two things - either they've changed their title or (more likely if their SERP title is very short) Google may be drawing their title from DMOZ as dexterb007 says (this is the reason I find most likely).
