    First site:
I like the font on the header! For your tables, I would add a thick border around your tables so it doesn't look like it's "floating" off the background

    Second site:
Pretty similar to the first layout.. I would also suggest adding borders around your tables on this site too.

    on the joebarton site,

Make text size a bit smaller.

Give nav menu more left padding

I prefer to do sites like this in ALL css and no tables. It is pretty easy and not much to it..

Go to the css forum if you decide to look for help to do so.

    Good luck

im not using pading as like you say its in html not css, i have a basic idea of css but have found there to be a lot of problems getting them to both look the same in ff and ie, it also takes me a lot longer to complete a site in css than in tables so for basic sites id rather just stick to tables, atleast for the time being. With regards to the links, my links are black and theyre on a grey background so im not sure where youve seen the blue links, please let me know.

However i do appreciate all the feedback given so far

Same as above. Text seems to close to the edges of the text box.

Look for me like, 10 min made websites, come on guy, you can do it better. The sites look like they are 10 years old. choose another layout. Have a look on football authority websites to get some ideas.
