My target key words are Newport Beach Divorce and Orange county divorce. Is it better to have one site that targets both words or 2 sites each targeting each keyword respectively (but will have half the content each).
IMO it depends...do you plan on generating a ton of content for each and really put the work in? If so, then get 2 direct match domain names and do it that way, it will keep the risk down, so if one site has a penalty or something crazy then you don't get totally fucked. In my expierence, that works pretty well across the board in terms of direct match queiries anyway(Goog-yahoo-bing-etc)...Some people say direct match isn't worth it really, but I beg to differ- I find quite the opposite in all the niche sites I have...sometimes you will rank without even trying for a mildly competitive term.... If you want to harnass both in one and start flowing juice and expand, etc...maybe get a domain like somethingdivorce.com then set up your URL structure like: somethingdivorce.com/orangecountydivorce.html somethingdivorce.com/whatevercountydivorce.html or somethingdivorce.com/county/orange/ etc etc.... The 2nd option gives you room to expand, but the first is more or less just targeting one area with one site....you can even do subdomains I guess, but the directories are a better route to go as sub domain will be treated as a entirely dif. domain. That's my two cents. If I didn't make sense, just let me know and I will explain it better.
Hello, Go ahead with three domains, two domains related with your keywords and one domain with your law firm, the two domains could link to your main domain (law firm), this is just an idea! Best regards, Jakomo
If you can put in the time and effort to build up two sites then go for it.... the only issue with juggling two sites is if you can't commit enough time one of them suffers, or they both never really take off.
Would prefer to focus on one site. Better to have one solid site than two but not so good sites. But, if you have time for both then go for it.
