guys as some of you already know im trying to develop 2 websites,

    belgiangems.com and manchestercommercialproperty.com

belgiangems.com is mentioned in the other thread; manchestercommercialproperty.com ..well the name pretty much says it all...

i'd like advice on the following:

    1. is manchestercommercialproperty.com feasible, since the domain name may be too long (however it may be a plus point since the SEO will be much easier since domain=keywords in this case)

    2. what do you think of developing sites built for local niche markets, such as manchestercommercialproperty.com or belgiangems.com. how are they comparable with, say, blogflare.com which serves an international market? will they earn as much?

manchestercommercialproperty.com people will never remember this long name. But for SE its not a problem, if that are your three keywords.

    the 2nd question was:

how do you compare earning potential of sites built for an international market, to that of sites built for a particular geographic region?

for example, how would you compare the potential earnings from manchestercommercialproperty.com, vs. blogflare.com or youtubedownloader.com

i was considering the possibility of getting commercial landlords to pay for advertising on my site.

Sure, the earning potential is lower, but if will have less competition. For instance, I'm interested in real estate in some countries and cities and when I need to find some position for whole country, then I'm using national wide resources, but when I'm looking for a property in some particular region, then I'd prefer local web-sites.

The question is how to make it for attractive for your visitors? I would put more information related to the region, including various statistics such as population and economical development.

get a shorter domain as well, use both. use manchestercommercialproperty.com for links and such, but maybe brand the site as ManchesterCP.com or something like that.
