These 2 things will increase your chances of being accepted to a directory by probably 50%, even if your site is on the borderline. 1. Submit to the proper subcategory, not the parent directory. For example if you have a web hosting company and there is a "Hosting" subcategory under the main "Internet" directory, don't submit to "Internet". Submit to "Hosting". Submitting to the proper subcategory is the greatest thing you can do to increase your odds of getting accepted. If you don't, the directory owner has to re-categorize your listing, which is a huge pain for them. 2. Fill out all the fields of the form. If you leave the description blank, your site will probably be deleted without even looking. That's it. Do this and you have just greatly increase the odds that you site will make it
Use proper Title text: This is a Proper Title this is not a proper title THIS IS NOT A PROPER TITLE This Keyword, is, not a Keyword, Keyword Phrase, a Proper title This is | not | a / Proper \Title The whole 5 sentence description of your website is not a proper title. Don't use a description like this: Ths website was made 4u. You're not text messaging! (wanna bet this post comes up first for proper??)
Yeah good advice. I hate when people submit to the parent category or some dont even submit their URL! Fact is when it comes to my directory atleast 95% of submissions have to be edited for whatever reason.
1. Don't be a spammer. 2. Don't be an affiliate trying to hide the fact you are an affiliate. 3. Don't make made-for-adsense sites about acne, pregnancy, diabetes, etc. 4. Don't make anymore sites about poker. Enough already! 5. Don't try and sell pen*s pills on MY directory. It's a pen*s-free zone.
Not just you. same everywhere. The biggest truth is most people dont want to spend time in writing good title, description and they want to rush in their submission at any cost. They dont dig the directory at all. This causes lot of problems for directory owners in maintaining a good directory.
I get all of these daily! Top levels, unless they paid for a feature, are deleted as I do not spend the time to hunt down the right sub-category. No description, deleted at once. Titles, if not in proper format, deleted. I check the sites first, and if a redirect or a spammy site, deleted. I only accept the top level domain, not /insidehere.htm or sub-domains. Mainly to destroy those spammers that submit like 10 or more at the same time, all the same domain, but different sub-domains or /aaaa,htm. And of course, porn sites! Or sometimes, checking sites, have to delete because a porn pop up shows!
