If you are referring to a web site which is hosted on another server then you can not share the processing power of your home computer.

yes, it is possible, let say your run the web portion on your server, and the mysql on your home computer, but what will be killing the deal is the network speed limited by internet.

Is 10mbit in download or upload, or both ?

What you need is upload speed, and usually this is where you lack. I suspect your 10mbit is download speed only.

again, i would not advise to run a server from home as usually, bandwidth is unreliable.

Plus, your server provider as probably a few backbone connection while at home you have one. If your provider goes down, your server is down too. Plus, you dont have internet to admin your server.

No, it isn't possible to share the processing power.

You need to do some research.

A few people have just said - Your internet connection is not reliable enough for a database connection, if your trying to share processing power - wouldn't it require more bandwidth than a database connection? Thinking logically can gain your answer.
