    1. What browser do you use with Joomla?

I've tried Opera 9.5 and it doesn't work too well, can't edit some windows sometimes etc, dunno why, is it only me?

I've tried FireFox 2.0, but not 3.0 yet, on 2.0 it works slow, I mean at first it works fine, but after few hours somehow it slows down and pages take longer to load etc (I'm running Vista with 2gb of ram and not even a sidebar, I've got my system optimized so it doesn't eat up resources but it still slows down).
I've tried Flock, same as firefox, in the end it's the same engine lol.

I haven't tried IE7 - I hate the weak feel of this browser.

I've tried Safari - I think the only problem was that this browser doesn't have a save password facility, (the wand from Opera, or Secure Login plugin from Firefox which I need as I use multiple users for many websites)

    2. Do you know any good admin extensions that can improve the workflow for Joomla ? I just had to remove 5 menus and it took me almost 10 minutes, what a timewaster.

    Hi there,
I know what you mean about the slow speed of Joomla backend in FF. I think the reason is that there are many images in the admin section, and it reloads each image on the page everytime you click on a link or menu item.

I still prefer to use FF even though it is a little slower. If I have to do tedious jobs that are going to take some time, I prefer to use IE7, as it is faster for these more mudane tasks.

I have also read a post in the Joomla forums that has said the following:
Another thing it also said to try is to increase the size of your cache in FF, that may help a little bit!

And for your second question, I am not sure of any good workflow admin extensions.

    Cheers

Never had a problem with the backend of joomla - try using another admin template - minted by joomlaworks is nice and light.

Also make sure you have sessions working properly. Also which WYSIWIG editor are you using?

How did you delete the menus? 10 minutes for 5 menus seems an awfully long time.

Its not the browser. Joomla runs slow regardless of what browser you use.

When I had my joomla site, if any more then 15 people got on it, the site would not accept any more connections.

What kind of hosting plan are you using? How many queries to the database can your account make per second? Contact your host and have them check the mysql usage.

But in my experience with joomla, if you get more then 15 or 20 people on a shared server, it just locks up.

Give the new FCK a go - it rocks.

Also turn caching on that might help.

also look at the swmenu components - the free menumaker is great, but I reccommend the pro version of swMenu as it allows you to create more than one menu in it.
