2 Publishers directing a Joe to the same merchant, who gets paid?

    We have the following situation:

    1. Publisher 1 sends a prospect, Joe, to Merchant A. Joe didn't make the online purchase on Merchant A website.
    2. Then, on 2nd day, the same Joe was browsing through Publisher 2 website where he got directed to Merchant A. Joe can't decide yet and decided to research more product review.
    3. On 7th day, Joe decides to buy and went directly to Merchant A website, and make his purchase there.

Assuming a 10-day cookie period, who gets paid?

Publisher 2 would get paid a commission for that sale.

Obviously publisher 2 since his cookie overides publisher 1's cookie.

Publisher 1's cookie was overwritten by publisher 2's cookie. So, publisher 2 get paid.

I agree with everyone else.. Publisher 2's cookie overrides the first one.

And what if we have following situation (it's a little different then this original one): Publisher 1 sends a prospect, Joe, to Merchant A, and have some user system (which means that users can have their accounts overthere), Joe is already registered on Merchant A and Joe makes purchase there (with cookies from Publisher 1). Will Publisher 1 receive commission?
