2 problems related with adsense

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by nandanamnidheesh, Feb 7, 2009.

1, i have indian video site which have 300 unique visitors/ day till last week and am getting less than 1 $ sometimes 1 $ from that site ..(not enough for the hosting charge :() and recently i had did some ads and link submit to increase visitors and it increased to 4000 unique / day (and now am suffering bandwidth problem:D) .. and still my earnings is same .... (now i need to find more money to buy more bandwidth:mad:)

so the question is how can i make these people click on these ads they only giving me impression i had added 2 links ads and 1 text ad.

2, this is related to the text ad in sidebar of my site .. when i chk my adsense account i found that the text ad is not giving me $$ only just 4000 - 6000 impression, so i tried changing the colors to make it not look like ads .. (no use ) then i thought if i put picture ads i will get for impression (no use ) ... now am thinking that if i remove that ads i can save that impression so my CTR (something like tht ) will increase so i will get more ... wht u people think ?? is there any use ??

URL to your site be useful to help you out here.

but generally you are looking at low ctr traffic, this happens to some niches, especially those that deal with alot of videos / images.

You may try to change position of your ads. Good position is a key factor for CTR.
But as Nystul already said, link to your site would be useful.

Try to find out which ads perform the best, and then remove the other ads. If this doesn't work, try another Ad agency.

Some web sites are simply not good for Adsense. Video sites are a good example. If your visitors are happy and satisfied with your videos, they have no reason to click ads. Or if they are not happy with your videos, they'll leave quickly and never see the ads. Adsense is better for pure text content sites where the ads can be integrated into the content and are directly relevant to the content and interests of the site's visitors.

because each site is unique (generally), always experiment on ad placements and colors. what has worked for many doesn't mean it would work for you too.

Pick out your winners and try to position them to the max prime positions... Keep on testing. Good Luck.

Video sites won't generate much income from adsense ads because
either your visitors love to watch the videos without clicking
anything or they just leave (if a bad site).

first of all try to bring more 'n more visitors to your site, secondly ads placement should be done very cleverly so that even visitors can't guess that it's the google ads...

Try to put your ads more within the normal flow of your page (a pointer to your page would help). Everyone puts their ads on the sides and on the top (leaderboard), so over time visitors learned to ignore those.

If you have a section of text that people read on your site, such as the video description, or similar videos, etc. then put a text ad flowing naturally from the text. Don't make it images, because people without thinking skip images when reading text.

If that doesn't help, try to make your ads more relevant (there are various ways to do that). Google AdSense doesn't always serve the most relevant ads. Put yourself in the shoes of your average visitor. What are their interests? Do the ads sound interesting to them? If not, that's your issue right there.
