2 Posts removed from my thread - why?

I had a look at my thread yesterday and there were 8 replies and now there are 6.

I read the posts and one was a user replying that they liked the site and I replied thanks with some other info and I find today that is gone. The two thread were not even at the end but in the middle of the thread!

    Why were they removed?

Because those post may irrelevant or identify as thread bump replies, I'm sure repliers got infractions regarding those posts or got 7 days ban. Hope you not!

    Good luck

Bumping: Not possible as the other person made a post and not me.

Irrelevant: Who decides this? If a person says something, its what they choose to say. Regardless, that was a relevant comment as it was about my site which was in question.

My post was deleted too, but I didn't get an infraction.

I would really like the admin/mod who deleted those threads to come forward and just say why.

No you are wrong, Bump doesn't only mean from you. I also got an infraction for bumping a thread that is not a my one. The reason was i posted a review even I could edit my requesting post at that thread.
Mods are deciding irrelevant type or not even what we have in our mind.

So think twice before you post anything in Buy/Sell section, all we are getting infractions for 3 months (These kind of posts), that's my advice.

    Have a nice day

Not all types of posts are allowed. Read the rules. When mods see posts that aren't allowed, we delete them.

This is getting me angry now.

I do not like the cowboy approach that Digital Point forums has developed when it comes to moderating. I have been on DP for about two years and its got worse.

Just an example, why the hell is this thread closed: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1428226

I didn't even get to reply back to some of the people that posted. Can mods now also decide when a thread is complete?

Lets see how long this takes to be closed.

My reply to jhmattern from the other thread - All replies from mods are usually read the rules. What part of the rules?

I am also guessing you closed that thread? Did you think I had no more questions on that topic?

The mods are either reckless or overworked. They are taking the approach of shooting first and asking questions later. Well actually they just shoot.

I have complained before about threads or posts being deleted. Banning is fine but I don't believe that comments should be deleted without a trace unless there is a serious infraction. It kinds of reminds me of whisking away the dissidents during the middle of the night.

I couldn't agree more. At least infractions have a message!

Its not just bad for the users, its bad for DP - users may think DP might have suffered a DB error or something. Someone actually asked a question about this.

I think its high time for a council or something to monitor mods and a place for users to send complaints to. In addition, when a thread is modified, the modification should be shown in a form of a note or something with reason.

Some times you need to watch those that watch others. Otherwise it would lead to irresponsible behavior or just mistakes that shouldn't happen.

*shouts* Whos with me. No one replies, and I get banned. Nice way to silence him, eh mods ;)

It was closed, b/c the issue was addressed. It's none of your business why someone else's posts were deleted, and if you'd read the rules, you'd know why your own are. Don't pick and choose - read them all. But since that might be too hard:

    1. Posting to leave commentary or opinions is not allowed in sales threads unless someone took part in an actual deal.

    2. Responding with thanks is not allowed (that's what rep and PMs are for).

    3. Posting to remind people that it's a free service just because folks aren't signing up isn't allowed - it's a bump.

Be grateful it was deleted without getting an infraction, since you could have. Also don't post to complain about things like that. If you have questions about your own deleted posts and / or infractions, PM a moderator. And as for others' posts, as I said, it's not your concern.

Once again, a second thread was closed when I haven't even finished my discussion.

Firstly, the issue was not addressed. I am the only person that can say if it is addressed or not since I am the OP, the person asking the question.

Secondly, if you read my first post properly, you would of noticed that not only was the other persons post deleted but my post too. So you mis-read. These are the kind of mistakes I am talking about that lead to problems like this. They happen again and again, and mods solve them by closing the thread!

If i understand correctly the Suggestions & Feedback section is a place where people can voice their opinions so stop silencing me . For you reference "Something you do or don't like? Let us know. This is also the place for questions regarding this forum."

Yes, there is something I don't like and it hasn't even been addressed. The issue of that something being addressed is being called into question.

Don't you dare silence me again since this issue is far from resolved and I am not happy.

I didn't misread (which is why in your 2nd thread I included the reasons your post was deleted). As for why threads in this section are closed:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=671062

As I also told you before, if you have questions about your specific posts being deleted or infractions given, take it up via PM. I'm also not happy. If people bothered reading and following the rules, that might change. We're not here to babysit or hold hands because people don't understand why their posts are deleted when they break rules they don't bother to learn.

On another note, don't make comments that read like veiled threats - against mods or anyone on this forum.

Can another mod/admin apart from jhmattern - please reply to this.

Look at these threads, do you think they have been resolved or do you think that I might actually have something else to add?

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1428467
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1428394
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1428226

After every reply, jhmattern decides to close thread on unresolved issues. Why are they unresolved? Because I feel that none of them have been answered or seen to properly.

As jhmattern keeps closing my threads, I seem to agree more and more with this thread. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1427360

To start out with, I thought it was all mods that were wreckless, now I think we can narrow it down to a few mods. I hope one that follows the rules properly can actually answer this thread.

jhmattern if you decide to close this thread let me know your timezone so I can actually post a thread here when you are asleep or away from the computer....I am being serious.
