I just used adwords, but I hear people get a lot of profit by putting it in their signature in this forums and others, banner advertising on forex/money making forums (theres banners available on the site) and any usual marketing ways. Anything works really, all you got to do is get the person to download the program and the $2 goes to your account. Took me about a week to earn that.
Well I used an activated account which cost me $8, the account was loaded with $50 in it, and that was used up. So net profit being $580 technically. But in my opinion, going around manually advertising in forums and the like is a much better way at converting than adwords. Such as signature links in forums, opening threads, putting up banners in sites etc etc. I'm glad to help anybody in this campaign, just send me a PM or email me, or just post here. The $2 per referall (the top green option when you go to sign up which says "CPL", stands for cost per lead). This option pays out better in the short and long run honestly.

why not just use clickbooth and receive $10 for every user that signs up , I never believe in pay to download though because people stay away from it, hard to make money.
