Is there an option in Google groups to automatically accept any group you're invited to? Many times when I invite some people from a list to join my current Google group, about a minute later I'll click management tasks and it'll show some people who just accepted. The stats will show they accepted at the exact time. Other than some auto-accept option, I don't know why this could be.
