I have a Forex site and it has been worked on for the past 2 months. These are the results: The link building is going pretty good, but I receive almost no traffic a day so far.
you need lot more content to get ranked in google. forex is very competitive niche. unless you are targeting a very long tail keyword, atleast 3 words, it will take lot longer than 2 months to get SE traffic
For onsite content, I suggest you fill it up with more artcles. You can also do article marketing (write forex articles) and submit to Isnare to start getting clickthroughs from related sites. I did that once for a forex site that I owned.
I am going to be a little different according to "search engine myths exposed" you don't need new content, just more links and make sure your page is optimised, you don't need new content just quality content. Shmoe
Thanks all for your tips, though I do plan to create 9 more pages. And with the .gov, well thats my little secret
