I have a friend whose 2 month old son needs a heart transplant and unless they can pay $1.5 million up front he will not get one. Their insurance does not cover transplants, the hospital he is currently at does not perform pediatric heart transplants and the children's hospital in Seattle Washington only provides free assistance to families living in Washington, Alaska, Idaho or Montana. They live in Oregon.
