Awesome, HF has came a long way. I used to be a member there and it is pretty awesome. Congratulation mate.
thats quite a huge milestone mate, congratz for your success.. hope you will get Rank #2 faster on MyBB... gud luck for future.
I'm over 2.5 million...that's 500k in 6 weeks. I had my biggest day of 16,000 posts last week. I'm starting a new forum network shortly with 2 partners. It's going to be a massive project.
Hella numbers! Congrats mate, hard work has paid off Just curious though, how much do you earn from your forums alone?
Right now I am making mid $x,xxx per month. I'd prefer not to give exact amounts. It's good income and it's still growing well.
Of course not, there's no reason to - as is the case for any forum. It's not because of the forum software that a forum gets very popular, it's because of the time and dedication the administrator puts into his forum. Congratulations RectangleMan - I'm sure you had to persevere through some very tough days to get it to what it is today. I do however have to give credit to MyBB for being able to support such a huge forum, many scripts would crumble from the high traffic.
I've made some adjustments to MyBB to deal with the traffic. I had some issues with MySQL for a while until I did some changes to tables. You can read about it here: http://www.vbum.com I run MyBB Central so I am very well versed in the use of the script and write my own plugins. MyBB handles itself pretty well and I do my best to minimize load with every plugin. I have very very few core code edits to MyBB. I believe if I was running smf or phpbb I would definitely have more changes. Even some of the adjustments are done through the plugin system of MyBB. btw I am about 3 weeks away from 3 million posts. I am seriously going to have 5 million or more posts per year on this site.
at the moment, HF has a total of 2,749,227 posts in 286,873 threads. Nice score, not by its number, but especially by its growth ; I have difficulties in understanding how to reach such a peak. On an other hand, if i sum the number of posts in the 'post' column, for each section, this does not make such an amount of posts, but 835456 posts only, not bad anyway, but still only 1/3rd of the announced figure...
