2 Link Building Strategies That Have Actually WORKED for me

    1. I get my competition URLs and pages and write:
    link:www.theirwebsite.com on Google or
link:www.theirwebsite/somehighprPage on Google and I see which sites rank to them. I then spend a little time wondering why they rank to them and spend short time exploring this website so I could somehow contact and offer them value...in exchange ask for my link to be put there.

    2. I see what works on sites like Stumbleupon (what headlines or whatever). I saw that lists work best.

I write some posts titled like: 21 Ways to...(something connected to my niche)
I wait some time to see if people are gonna naturally stumble my stuff...if not I go to stumbleuDon.com and enter my URL there and order stumbles.

My latest success was an article that got 60.000 views (maybe more) over 2000 mentions on different websites + my main website was featured on some chinese and spanish authority blogs so within 1 month of running that site from no PR I got to PR4 on my main site and PR5 on the blog post that went viral.

That's all guys. It's simple...not some 'latest exploit tactics' or something like that. Things that will work all the time:
    1) offer some value and trigger reciprocity
    2) offer some value so people can link and be proud the recommended resource like yours.

seo is a HUGE area, what are you exactly doing so you're struggling with this stuff?

My tactic has been all the time...find what worked for others and replicate. Find which sites link to my competitor sites (the most successful ones) and make them link to me too.

yes its alot easier to have interest from people when your talking about making money, but when you have a product like ink cartridges fro example its alot harder to get people interested. :p

Isn't stumbleuDon.com deceased? Their forums or blog haven't been updated in several months.

I concur with the article submission story, MarkInter. Submitting articles is one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to any business these days.

    Keep up the good work!
