2 Layouts - What do you think?

Hi everybody,

Over the last couple of weeks, I've been working on 2 layouts for 2 different sites. The first site is a game news site that gathers news from RSS feeds, and is also a place for articles and trailers:

The other one is the same type of website, but then for soccer:

I'd love to hear your feedback on one of or both of the websites, as from this point I don't really know what to add/improve.

No bad, Its abit graphic intensive, could of made it a smaller screenshot....
I think the banner could possibly be merged batter and some fonts would look better changed.

I really like the first template. The teal background color really looks nice!

 

I think both are great, I particularly like the colour scheme on the second. I don't really have any criticisms, perhaps shrinking the margin on the soccer links to the right, and increasing the main content font size slightly could open the page up a bit more, it feels a little closed off to me. Nice work

I don't like the links at the top of the first one. I think the text needs to be bigger, or the cells around them need to be smaller vertically.

Not bad. I like the first gaming design better. Try a darker background for the soccer one.

Personally I think the first one is better.

 

The first design "appeals" to me more.

Not bad, I'm not a big fan of number 1.

 

I can say, that would be nice to work more on the text. Now it looks kind of big, seems there is a lot of text. Hard to read. Bullets, backgrounds could help.

The text can be better done. Maybe using other colors would look better. But it's a great starting.

 

I like the sleek look you have given to the second one, the first one is ok, for its genre, but the second one really stand out
