    Hi Guys,

If I have 2 domain names that has the same content, would that be a problem as far as the search engines are concerned??

I want to switch the content of my primary domain to another domain name, at some point I might have 2 domains listed with the same content.

    Your input is appreciated
    thanks

Duplicated content is a big minus.. thats in general.

I'd suggest that your domains use a different META tags, headers, designs, and URL structure. Thats not to solve any problem, but just to avoid some known issues in such cases.

    Good luck.

As long as its not permanent there should be no problem.

Chances are the older domain/content combo would be given preference in the long run so dont have both running together for too long .. use a redirect on the old domain.

thanks so much guys for the input. If I use a redirect from the old to the new domain, would that effect my ranking at all. My main domain has some pretty good ranking on the main search engines.
