2 domains to same site

    I was wondering, if you have to keyword rich domain names and you point them both to the same website. How to do that correctly so it has no bad effects on search engines because of duplicate content and that both sites domains are findable in the SE?

    A 301 Redirect would also have no effect?

    I too have 1 domain that I want re-directed to another URL. I've seen other reputable website do the same.
    What are the proprer steps to do this without search engine "punishment"?
