Hello guys I experienced following when testing around with 301: When pointing a 2nd keyword domain to the established site (a site with page 1/2 SERP rankings in its niche) - we got same high rankings pagewise for the new keyword domain and the keyword in that domain. What did you guys experience when doing something like this? Was this just luck or may this workout for future ventures?
I haven't tried such thing but I know that when you do a 301 redirect, it passes PR; but in your case, I guess the SERPs ranking was passed too
have you guys ever heard two domain point to a site is not allow in adsense? but you can use one SQL database.
Interesting. I have sometimes observed that ranking in Google fluctuates a lot especially preceding a major change i.e a redirect. It is possible that the rank for the keyword in the second site is transitional and it might go back to its origional position. But then again it is also possible that the increased page rank achieved as a result of he combined site could have actually improved position for your keywords in general.
fact is, if you 301 a domain to another, after some time, it will inherit the PR from the domain redirecting to. Supposedly if the domain is a keyword domain we get the same serp power on that keyword as the already established target domain is getting for its keyword... is this assumption right?
It works I have done this with a domain before. And xs.to has done this as well. For an example. xs.to owns free-image-hosting.us The owner used to send a few of his visitors to that domain, so it will rank for it's keyword. Then he redirected to his site xs.to. And now he is ranks on the first page for Free image hosting for the xs.to domain.
This is great information, I have never tried this before but it's good to know that you can pass pr and rankings in the serp from one domain to another.
Hmm.. if the 2 domains index by google that is both similar to each other, is it considered duplicate content and might be banned by Google???
