My client has bought two different domains example, abc.com and abc.co.uk but having the same design, marketing message and content in them. Please elaborate what are the SEO stakes! urgent pls.

If the content is same i would be making a single SEO strategy but the client wants both domains ranking top. What should my intelligent, responsible and honest response.

    Thank you

one of the sites will get penality for having duplicate content . So better redirect one domain to another than putting two sites with same content .

Thats no good. Why would he do that. I would strongly recommend him to redirect 301 one of the domains to the other.

Redirecting is the best option. Its better for SEO and less work.

cross-posting, man? anyway, I have answered in your other post on the other forum - you will be penalized for duplicate content.

I don't know what your client is trying to sell, but I would be concerned first about the penalty everyone is talking about (why wouldn't we be worried by the way that BOTH sites would be penalized?). Second, why not just make the sites NOT DUPLICATIVE? I mean, it's not that hard to have BASICALLY the same content from a human perspective expressed in a different way on the other page from Google's perspective. It's a little work (more than cut and paste) but worth it, since then they will have two non-penalized sites that point to each other and are mutually relevant

I do something similar, but instead of the second site being a straight out replica, I try to shift some things around to make the layout/menu/header image different. If your client is able to tweak the second website to be slightly different and unique look-wise from the first one, even if just in slight ways, that might prove to be effective at accomplishing their goal.

i believe you will penalized by Google for duplicate content. It is better you do redirect on one of the website.
