Hi. Im very new to adsense, and have a query.

My site is very new, and has recieved hardly any promotion, but it has occasional visitors. Today, i recieved 2 clicks, and in total, gained only 2 cents.

The site this was on is a social networking resource site, mainly myspace related though. Now i know not to expect anything special in terms of the click values, but 1 cent a click? Is that right? Am i doing something wrong?

Heres my site, if it helps:

    Thanks for the help,
    Dan.

That sounds about right for a Myspace Resource site. Try coming up with something original, and it will pay off for you.

nothing is wrong with that rate, m8. it's a good start since you got 2 clicks with low traffic. what you can do is to increase more traffic to your site.

    Hi,
yes one click / one cent is normal for some niches maybe like yours, it seems). For other niches as layers, real estate, credit and others it's different, you can earn 1,2 ,3, more dollars per click.

I've heard that "myspace" related keywords are a bit too low.

Well, that sucks, but remember this: While other keywords such as lawyers, credit or mesothelioma may pay much more per click, it's your content that generates visitors. So, if this is what you like, and what you're good at, keep it up, and you'll earn more then when you start a site about mesothelioma, for which you'd have a hard time writing original content.

Even Myspace sites do get more than a cent a click though. You can expect to get 2/3 cents on average, maybe.

ok thanks everyone for the replies :)

I got 10 clicks today, for a total of 32 cents, so an average of 3.2 cents/click. Bit better than 1 cent :)
