What happens when 2 campaigns on the same account are bidding on same keywords? Will it split my ad impressions into 2? or will it show both my ads simultaneously?
what would be the reason for doing so? you can just create one campaign and setup multiple ad groups if you want to test 2 different ad copy. and yes, if you do it that way, Y! will rotate your ad evenly at the beginning then later which ever gets the most CTR
The reason is because I have two similar products and already have an established set of keywords that works. So does Y! show both ads simultaneously or splits the impressions?
I'm not sure what it would do on the same account, but if you could get more than one account it would def. show both ads I would think... well unless they only show one domain (if their are multiples) at a time like google does.
Yep if you have 2 accounts it will show. Not sure about what would happen in the same account, as I have never tried it.
on the same account, you cannot even add the same keywords multiple time. if you want to use the same keywords for multiple campaigns, then seperate account is your option
We've copied campaigns with the same keywords. The bulk of the traffic goes to one campaign. The second campaign gets a trickle. (We'll spend around $15 for one set of keywords... the second set will get us around $2 in spending) We set it up this way because in one campaign, we're using keyword specific urls to send a SID tracking cookie in the link to track our campaign at the keyword level. In the second campaign, we're running identical keywords, but switching up the ads - testing various landing pages with the affiliate links. We've tried to split the campaign into a second account, but couldn't seem to get it to work. (The campaign in the second account doesn't get any traffic at all. it's like yahoo knows it's the same account and is only allowing us to send traffic to one campaign.) Anyone have any ideas? We'd like to get more traffic to our keywords to bump up into the next commission tier.
