$2.95 Domains Through February 28th!!!

Discussion in 'Domains' started by jhmattern, Feb 21, 2007.

I needed a few domains this morning, and occasionally use www.hostmysite.com (although usually Godaddy). They're running $2.95 registrations (including .com) now through February 28th. Just thought I'd share in case anyone was looking to register domains. :)

I've never had any problem with them as a registrar, so I'd definitely feel comfortable recommending them - and they do sometimes put out good sales. The only thing (and maybe it's just that I can't figure it out) is that it seems you can only register one domain at a time (unless you add-on another extension to the one you're ordering). But the process is pretty quick and painless once you're setup, so for that price, I'd say it's worth it. :)

Nope. Just go and register the domain(s). Really quick easy process (at least it was for me, b/c I already had an account). Nothing else needed at all, and I didn't notice any limits posted, although there might be. I just registered 4 w/o a problem though. :)

To the best of my knowledge they're pretty standard. I've never had an issue doing anything. I don't usually push or forward my domains though... just register them and set the nameservers to my hosting account elsewhere. I didn't see anything specifcially on the site, so you might want to check with them before registering.

Mine show at $7.95 each in my shopping cart. Is there something I have to do to make them $2.95 each?

I'm not sure what you did. If you go to their homepage - www.hostmysite.com and search for the domain from there, it should show as $2.95. I'm not even sure where the $7.95 number would come from, b/c their regular rate is $8.95. Perhaps you accidentally clicked for a free domain with a hosting account instead? They might have a hosting account at $7.95 which would explain it.

btw, I looked in my control panel, and you can alter nameservers and looks like you can push ("change ownership" is how it's listed - to any other profile there). I'm not seeing forwarding, but that doesn't mean it's not there... I'm not spending forever digging through - normally I just set my nameservers to my HostGator account and handle any forwarding from there.

The problem is unless you get a good feedback on their service you cannot register costly domain names with them, in the fear of losing them....
Can anybody else share their experience with them?
This offer is really very good, I must agree...

I've never "lost" a domain with them, and I have several there now. The only company I've had issues with on that front is 1&1. This company's been nothing but good to me (not affiliated with them at all btw... just happy with them and happened to see the deal this morning).

btw, this is only for first year registrations, so no, you can't register for 5 years at $15.
