1st Page on Google But No Traffic

    Hi,

For couple of weeks now, my site (http://www.onlinegamesdirectory.co.uk) ranks number 3 on Google SERP UK results only, but i get no traffic at all from this keyword, even though google trends shows some searches for this specific keyword in UK. Keyword is "free arcade games"

If anyone can explain this please do so.

    Thank you

You rank at #22, honestly don't expect too much traffic at this position since not even more then 2% people even go to second page, let alone third page.

I rank 22nd on "google all the web""
If you use Google UK to search "pages from uk" I'm on 3rd.

If no one are searching for that certain keyword then don't expect to get some visitors through it.

If u are in third position in SERP and getting no visitors it means this keyword is not good

How many people are searching for that keyword in UK? Do you have good titles and description when someone actually makes that search? These things are important as well :)

    An interesting theory...

Although your website is on Page 1 within UK results.

Maybe no one are using those local results to much.

All the other queries are also calculated.

I am not sure what else to say, Just keep up the good work mate.

We all know that there are many weird and wonderful keywords over the internet.

People can have as they wish, I guess providing that it is legal.

    Have a great new year,

There are over 30k searches a month for that keyword according Google's keyword tool.

I know it's weird but I have to find this kind of keywords, I can't compete with miniclip.com and others like them, for obvious keywords.

Probably Mike is right, there are searches in UK but nobody use "pages from uk" option.

Its not so much about the ranking of the keyword, its about your Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

how compelling is your description to get people to click your link

I have not looked at your listing but not having a compelling reason to click a organic listing is where many people fail so its not about SEO it's about your SEM

See what you could do to improve what Google is showing, Google even gives you a way to change the listing description just tell it, I can't remember how but I know Google shows you how to do this, maybe someone here can chime in on how

Good luck and rethink your SEM

Apart from what others have said, I wouldn't make any predictions on how a keyword or serps listing 'performs' based on the week before and after Xmas. It's the most atypical time of the year.

Did you use go ogle keyword suggestion tool for searching keyword.

Also use google webmaster tool to see what people are typing to search for arcade games.

You will get a clear picture whether to use it or not.

That's part of the problem, using Google's tool. Use the free Wordtracker tool or SEO tool and you get a whole different set of numbers. The other thing is these numbers are from American search engines not the UK, so the results would be even less.

I had a #1 ranking for a search term that Google says has 550,000 searches a month, but the amount of clicks per day I can count on one hand. The other two keyword tools seem to be much more accurate, if I remember correctly the searches were less than 30 a day.

This keyword "free arcade games" has a search volume of 466/day (Google, Yahoo, Msn).
If in UK only, I say about 66/day?
