Says theres 1000 searches a month for the word "flower". Anyway of figuring average clicks for if your website is 1st place verses 8th place?

It's really impossible to tell. People tend to click on the first one (I think it's like 80% on first result), second gets 12% and the last 8% goes to the rest.

I have a listing in position #7 for a keyword in Google and I'm getting around 30 unique a day from it. The keyword has 5000 monthly searches in Overture.

It is hard to say. Your description also plays a role in enticing the visitor to click through to your listing.

At first place, you should get at least 40-50% of all traffic.

At eighth place- somewhere between 1-10% ( very rough estimate)

The most reliable study so far comes from the Cornell University. They used an eye tracking technology to discover what percentage of users would click on each of the 10 results appearing on the first page of Google for certain topics.

    The results were as follows:

    1 - 56.36%

    2 - 13.45%

    3 - 9.82%

    4 - 4.00%

    5 - 4.73%

    6 - 3.27%

    7 - 0.36%

    8 - 2.91%

    9 - 1.45%

    10 - 2.55%

The difference between coming first and second is enormous, also those stats dont show that some surfers will click more than 1 result, like for comparing prices on certain products
