I am relatively new to the whole website making thing. I have created a few websites, and one has made me a few hundred dollars, but nothing too much. However, from my past failures / sucesses, I've learned that the only way to make a website sucessful is to provide really good content. So, since I really have a lot of experience with weight loss, I decided to create an informational weight loss website / blog. I am trying to add great content every day, and I am really trying to help people lose weight. So, I have set my self a goal of getting 1,000 visitors a day within 3 months. I am adding a ton of great info, but I now need to find some effective marketing techniques to get traffic to my website. I really think my site can help people with weight loss, but I need some help of getting people to the site. I don't want all my posts to be written in vein . So does anyone have any reccomendations on how to market my site? thanks

You have picked a very crowded field to get started in. The good news is that because it is crowded, that means that there is alot of traffic available for the picking. If you want to get traffic, you need to decide if you want to go the free route or the PPC route. If you want to go the free route, visit some weight loss forums and see what everyone is talking about. You should be able to find a treasure trove of keywords to work around. Then find out if there is any competition for them on Google. The way to see if the keywords are worth going after, just type them in google. If there are lots of sponsored links lining the page, that means that people are willing to spend money to get those viewers to their page because they will most likely be in the buying mood. If you find that there are no sponsors, it will most likely be a poor keyword to chase. Adam
If you have a ton of great info, I suggest you to try Twitter. You will get more and more followers there, and your followers will go to your website. If you got a good site I mean unique content rich site. You will definitely be getting good traffic. If you got enough budget, you can try PPC (pay per click) campaign to get more traffic
Not so hard i could get this done within a week with basic seo. advertise in sig and free directorys post topics on your site and reviews why its usefull... even dig or stumble add a few well knowns phrases and keywords for example " How to loose weight fast " most adults and even teenages will always search this on google... so build a few backlinks. also 1000 hits a day is very easy but having loyal members/visitors you need to write great content straight to the point that can help them or educate them in some way. pretty simple easy and no high tech SEO skills needed
