    You are right on this, if this site does not belong to you, it would be more ethical to load it on a free image host and display it from there.

    Digg won't post an image , it will post an article, at least posting an article means that the originator gets some form of recognition. Posting just the image allows the originator to receive none. You cant really compare doing this and posting on Digg....
