    Errors like this may seem insignificant at first but are sometimes the direct cause to why a website doesn't look the same in all browsers. That's mainly because some browsers try to ignore or even "fix" html issues by guessing the correct code and loading the page accordingly while others simply allow the layout to break. Out of curiousity, do a view source in Firefox and IE. Occasionally, you may not see the same thing in both cases.
