There is a new feature in the marketplace section that allows buyers to instantly pay for auctions (or Buy It Now) items that they win. As a seller, if you want to use this feature, you need to put your PayPal email address here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/marketplace.php?do=settings You also need to enable Instant Pay for any sale you have running if you want it to be available for that sale. PayPal will report to us what is going on with the transaction, and you can view any payments you send or receive from your UserCP here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/marketplace.php?do=payments Since it enables us to see what's going on with a transaction, we will automatically know if someone failed to pay for something they won, or if they did a chargeback for an item down the road). This is just the initial rollout, there will be some things based on the data we get (for example something similar to an iTrader rating, except it will report how often users actually pay for things, how often they are late in payment, how often they do disputes, etc.)
The receiver requires a PayPal account (it does not need to be verified... although I wouldn't personally send money to someone without a verified account, but that's a different topic I suppose).
This is one of best option for Marketplace and it will help reduce scams and will wait for more updates in this option as I know Shawn will have more things in his mind.
I just say this last night, or this morning I suppose technically. Thanks Shawn, that's awesome. Cheers.
so how does this verify account work? Is it that you click on the link and then PayPal page shows you whether the account is verified or not?
Yeah, I tried on my own PayPal link and it showed me it was verified which is obviously true. Yes, that is a great feature and I can imagine its full potential.
Amazing feature, but i suggest you add an option for users to disable Instant pay too. I mean, for someone to Undo it on their threads once they've activated it.
