flash intros are totally pointless also.
    *click to skip intro*
*everybody who ever visits the site skips*

should have told them they were idiots :)

Infact I never encourage my clients to have Flash on their sites. Basically we Indians get attracted towards such things and they always advice me to have something like that on their websites. If they insist a lot then we do it for them and believe me - after few days they request us to remove it.

Flash is good for some fast loading banners of button thats it! No intros / NEVER A FULL FLASH SITE!

    10. If you use music on your site make sure the user can stop it, and it BETTER NOT start on page load without the user requesting it.

    That's too true.

However i don't see what is wrong with rollover images and drop downs in the nav bar?

me either...as long as they aren't too overused...

if you have all dropdowns with tons of needless things in them...then there is an issue...

i've been to a site that had a flashing rollover...that was annoying...i immediately closed the window...so it just depends on how careful you are with them...they are good for certain things

Rollovers are a huge problem! I've seen a site that had links below the rollovers and got covered each time I placed my mouse near it! This isn't always functional..

exactly :)...not always functional, but sometimes they are (if it's just a little effect...maybe like a text color change or adding a border, or a slight color change...those ones are just fine in my eyes :D

as long as things are FUNCTIONAL they DONT bother me.
    For example:
Flash intro's arent a problem for a website which announces a festival or something. Intro's for covering the loading time of large (filesize) images? No problem for me. A complete flash website? No problem if it is for a graphical artist or so...
    Do you agree?

I can't stand hunting for the content of the website because there are to many Google ads on it.

@Bram, I agree on the festival/event and graphical artist thing. But definitely not for an information site etc though

Flash navigation sucks too, since i can't middle-click and open the pages in new tabs

On that note, any onclicks or javascript url's should die

i dont think huge conglomerate websites such as abercrombie.com are complaining about their all flash website...i mean if your browser cannot run flash it's time to upgrade :)
