DP is one of the most active forums and the mods are not here to censor posts. I find they do an excellent job deleting spam and posts that cross the line as well as banning members that abuse the rule. It's a tough job done by people that don't get paid for it, my hats off to the mods.

Just a question, do you report inappropriate posts?

Son, if you would pay attention to everything on this forum, you will find that your title is so far off the mark it is unreal!
    This forum is well moderated!

Now having said that, and knowing you have read the faq's here, and knowing you have read many posts just in this forum, you will in the future use the nice triangle to report any post you feel uses bad language.
That is there for reporting of any thread or post you feel is wrong.
The mods will then look at it and make their decision.

Now red rep, what is getting an abusive red rep got to do with the moderation of DP forums?
No one will know what you got in red rep if you do not say so.

Okay, back to the Jets losing bad!

My read: DP is used by a variety of age groups, a variety of Nationalities, ... The problem is what is acceptable to one group is not acceptable to the other.

I see idiom usage and language problems constantly. It reminds me of my Mother's cousin. As a little boy he went to a birthday party and got the bachelor button (what a hoot, he married 5 times). It was a practice in those days to bake a button in the cake. Person who got the button was supposed to be a bachelor. He got the word "bachelor" and "bastard" confused and was mad at being called a "bachelor."

I think most of us try to seek a middle road in moderating. "This is not Sunday school.

ofcourse i did once , the dude who was reported was banned immidiately but the offensive quote was not deleted (which should be) ...

now its flaw in thier system that you cannot report comments given to you with green/red rep. (because you never know who is sending you abusive comments with red rep.

If the mods and admins disclose who gave reds and greens this forum will convert into a battle field.

if it did not happen to you , it does not mean its not going around , moderator may check my account or i may post screenshots of my control panel to prove abusive comments with Red Rep .

so its not a fake thread

I guess then post the screenshots. Moderators can't see your reputation history.

As for the language - we had a thread reported because a guy was called a "lucky bastard". That's common slang in alot of english speaking countries and the equivalent to a ghetto high five but if you don't know that then it can be confusing.

I know I've left alot of threads alone because while I found them immature and a waste of ones and zeros there was a place for the discussion.

It's by design, not a flaw actually. Mods/admins don't read private things (reputation comments, private messages, etc.)

You're complaint is roughly the same as if you complained to your Internet service provider because someone wrote you an email with a swear word in it.

If you wish, you can close the reputation box in your UserCP, then no one in the world will see your rep, and you can also disable the ability to receive private messages in your UserCP, that way you don't accidentally read something that a mod/admin didn't pre-screen for you.
