1) How long as your host been around? 2) Which datacenter is your server located out of? 3) Are you a reseller of a reseller? 4) Do you have Proof of uptime? 5) CPU, RAM policy? 6) How many people manage your hosting? (Is it just you and a friend?) 7) What is allowed and not allowed? (banner exchange websites, arcade websites? 8) How can you sell it so cheap, When larger hosting companys can't?
Glad to see your question, will try to answer your queries: 1. Mellowhost is in business for over 2 years now. 2. Our 12 shared hosting servers are located at softlayer, we are softlayer authorized reseller for dedicated servers. 3. If we lease the servers, that means we are the people who are managing them 4. We have 12 servers, if you purchase this package you will be hosted on our newest node which uptime can be found here: http://www.wormly.com/site_uptime/hostid/15386 5. http://www.mellowhost.com/?page_id=16 6. Mellowhost is a registered Ltd. Its definitely not like one man business like other marketer. 7. All should be self explanatory: http://www.mellowhost.com/?page_id=16 I can say, banner exchange sites are not allowed due to high cpu and memory usage and arcade websites will vary based on the RAP can be found at our well written policy page. 8. That should be a business secret which can't really be opened I suppose in the market. And eventually price defers from plan to plan and place to place Have a great day.
Sounds good, but why answer questions with links? Can't you answer them? If I walk up to a brick and mortar store and ask them about certain policy's are they going to point to the wall with a big book of stuff and say go look it up, it is in that thing. How many mysql connections are you allowed? One of my Arcade websites got locked because it was getting upwards to 500 uniques, 2700 page views a day and my previous host call it "File Hosting" and wouldn't let me get the current files to move them off the server. Since I was monitoring the cpu it used daily and it stay'd well below 6% on a high user day, I think maybe it was due the mysql connections being used per user. Also, what is your policy of getting files off of accounts that have been locked? Since I am thinking about it. To answer #8.. Since your not a reseller of a reseller and have your own servers, I can understand now how you might sell so cheap, but still servers cost money and $18 a year is more like $1.50 a month per person and only earning that much a month per a person still sort of has me wondering how can you make money from selling so cheap. You say your hosting has been in business for 2 years, but only has 48 days worth of uptime monitoring. Did the mellowhost company have a problem or switch servers before that? I might have to go to another host, I do run sever Arcade websites that are popular, along with a few other sites. sorry to took up your time.
Regarding the policy URLs, we are unlike others have well written policies, specifically that does explain them clearly, and eventually if you read my reply that does clearly mention regarding your question of policies. It is because that server is provisioned last month. We have 12 servers and other 11 servers are full and no more clients are being given there. Regards
