I have a meeting with this client tomorrow about their website www.craft metals.com.au (remove space) I know exactly what I think about his website but I would like some statements from different people about the following things. .What they liked .What they didn’t like .Usability .Design .Content .If they would change one thing, what would it be .anything else you want to say (Here is an important point to include) >what do you think the business does >What is its target audience (e.g. customers, architects etc) (If you know anything about the below then please include it in your review it increases your chances of winning the prize but you don’t have to include it) >SEO >User Interaction >etc Review doesn’t have to be very long just to the point but the winning reviews are ones where the writer has thought about it rather than just writing the first thing hat comes to mind. Prizes are as follows 1st: $7 2nd: $4 3rd: $1 Good Luck
What I think the business does: I think it provides metal materials. Target Audience: Construction, Architects, Manufacturers What I like: -Simple, easy to use -Good color scheme Didn't Like: -Main content should be slightly smaller so the user doesn't have to scroll down. -The font that is currently gray is a little harder to read, and doesn't stand out well. Usability: -Very easy to use Content: -All content, such as pictures and text, is relevant to the page it is located on. Thats really all I have to say, good website over all, only several minor flaws. Thank you for the contest
thanks kolgames for the quick entry, slightly more detail woudl be better but that very good allready
What I believe the business does: - At first glance, I believe that the website offers a variety of metals. This is easy to tell, from the name, the look of the website, and the introduction paragraph. Target Audience: Construction, Designers, Manufacturers, Architects, Business Owners What I liked: - Simplicity in the design. Very minimalistic, yet easy to navigate; the color scheme was very nice, and everything was well fitted. The navigation was very simple, and I could find exactly what I wanted in relevance to the website and what is being offered. Great design! What I didn't like: - Honestly, I enjoyed everything. From the sub-sectioning, and clever use of pictures to help illustrate the fact that the companies metals are being used, to the sleek design. I couldn't find any flaws. Even the contact tables and boxes in the "contact" section looked nice. Usability: - Extremely easy to navigate; I found everything I needed within each section. - Every subsection was placed accordingly, and correctly. Content: - Not too much, not too little; just the right amount. - On the index page, I would possibly include another paragraph, in a smaller font, to help illustrate more about the company; perhaps the foundation date, and a quick contact phone # for reference or for people who are in a hurry or just need a number. This could help a lot. If I could change one thing: - Just the logo placement on the index page. Overall: - User Interaction was integrated well into the websites design, especially on the index page with the sliding links below the introductory paragraph. - I think in terms of design, you should put the Logo to the top left corner, near the navigation - this way you could utilize more space on the index page, as well as keep the logo on every single page, so that the viewer is constantly seeing it. Browser: Firefox 3.5+ Resolution: 1680x1050 Everything fit on screen perfectly, but for people who have smaller resolutions (1280x1024 and lower), they may need to scroll around the page. I think that by moving the logo, this will eliminate that problem.
When first entering Craft Metals the first thing I spotted was the artistic building that seems to tower over the website. Although this does seem to take up alot of the homepage space I believe it is a great addition to the site as it showcases the work Craft Metals provides. The color scheme seems to go along nicely with the website and overall has a pretty decent design. Also the lower navigation is pretty sweet(I found myself playing with it for awhile haha). The logo seems pretty brandable and although it may be on the basic side of things, I think it works with the site. There are a few things that did catch my eye that I personally think should be changed. One being the navigation fonts and size. For me it's not horribly small but from what I believe your targeted audience is going to be in the older stages of life and would appreciate the bigger size. I also thought that the header space above the navigation could be used for something...maybe a smaller version of the Craft Metals logo? The navigation throughout the site was pretty simple and I take that as a big plus. The content was well placed but it did seem to lack detail in regards of the description. My first impression of what the site was about was what the title indicated. Crafting Metals. I think the design would do a good job of informing someone new of what craft metals does and the simplistic tone sits well with it. The Targeted Audience is a pretty tricky question to answer as I would think that although it would be in the older range it would still tend to vary depending on who needed the service. Hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck with the contest.

Thanks for the reply and sure it wouldnt be a problem... First Impression: When first entering Craft Metals the first thing I spotted was the artistic building that seems to tower over the website. What I liked Dropline navigation menu Blue and white color combination Simplicity of design Clean look Easy to navigate What I didn’t like Pictures is in quite bad quality (looks pixelated) Usability As I mentioned on "What I liked" - very easy to navigate. Also there is lot of information. Design I like it's simplicity, but maybe it is even too simple Content I think there is enough and good quality informative content If I would change one thing, what would it be definitely buying some very high quality stock images (can be found on fotolia.com, dreamstime.com, istockphoto.com etc.). And probably adding some icons what do you think the business does Makes metal products for buildings What is its target audience Builders. Probably architects/designers too
these are my feelings and also i had written some which they(craftmetals.com) should follow, just assume that you are speaking all these words tomorrow, have a great day .Usability is easy to find what we need but since it is a advice and product selling company,my idea is to add a link which says like which product you want ? zinc copper aluminium and besides each metal add the product image,if it is combination of all metals then show the image correspondign to it, i have choosen the system because i want to make the users to feel easy in selecting the products and make them to get a real feeling .Design 1.is excellent but requires a little font change and also some animated banners instead of using an image ,(because animated content makes users to get an quick idea on what your company is and what it provides,so banners will be better choice) 2.the 4 plus sign which are present below the introduction on main page should be changed to readable navigation menu because unless i clicked that plus sign i have not come to know that they are navigation menus 3.logo is very nice but requires a little change in adding some colours and bring a realistic metal effect which suits white background and rest .Content Requires a lot more images and the rest is ok but on introduction page ,what is the purpose of writing EXPERT DVICE and BRILLIANT what do you think the business does i first felt that your company provides advice on the metals but later after going through products section i had come to conclusion that you also sell materials,a little bit time has consumed for coming to decision that you sell the products and also advice i feel this should be explained in detail on the main page with animated banner like an image showing someone seeking advice ,another image showing someone purchasing the products >What is its target audience (e.g. customers, architects etc) architects, builders(this should also be mentioned on main page) .anything else you want to say 1.for such a kind of business requires a lot of marketing and advertising 2.My advice is to conduct an exhibition saying free advice on materials and show everyone what do you have and why they are incredible, show a live building or anything which is built with the metals you use 3.Show a live example on how your metal can sustain different environmental situations SEO i dont know how old this site is but it has lot of links from different sites linking to craftmetals.com but requires advertising a lot especially in the architect and builders forums userinteraction livechat
