I saw a site having 172 listing on Yahoo directory, with each listing for 299$ pa. Does that mean that they are spending around 42,600$(approx.) yearly. another confused now.
You may have only one listing but it will be in listed country wise which may be showing you many listings like au.dir.yahoo.com , uk.dir.yahoo.com
@amit nope i checked on dir.yahoo.com for a particular website and i saw 176 results, confused as there below its was written u can submit addtional sites @terry brah!! wikipedia is free, u can have as many as u want. u dont wanna know my no.
When submitting to the Yahoo directory, depending on your site you get listings in multiple categories like in multiple cities if you offer the service in all those cities,... you also can be listed as a popular site in higher level categories and finally you get almost the same listings in dir.yahoo.com ca.dir.yahoo.com, ... You can not submit your site more than once, it is up to the editors to place it in multiple categories.
i think its similar to dmoz in that they will place you in a category relating to your site then to an applicable regional category but yes at editors discretion
Major companies have no problem with budgets and can afford to advertise everywhere at any cost. though agreed that your sites listing could and chances are will be listed in many other countries yahoo directory listing. thx malcolm
