So I've been working on a new website for an old client, basically it's an affiliate news portal. Simple concept, but we're adding alot of special content and features to it once the site launches. The other day I changed my DP feed to the new site, and BAM 1700 pageviews over 4 days, and the site wasn't promoted anywhere else except for on Entrecard (which didn't start until this morning). The only content was a brief interview between the sites' owner and myself. Anybody else seen that kind of result from a simple feed link on digitalpoint? We haven't really started promoting the site yet because it's still partially under construction. When it's ready next week we're doing an official launch, but I was just shocked that it got that much traffic.
if you have a catchy title on your feed, like the one you have now - it will attract some visitors. and depending on your post count for the last 4 days, you might have gottent enough exposure to get that kind of traffic
Don't mistake pageviews for traffic. That's a common mistake that many marketers make. Pageviews are not an important stat. Unique visitors are. Dale King
True Dale. We have 950 uniques in total. Either way, it's quite impressive for just a basic link. Gentile - it's my RSS link. If you look at the link beside my avatar that's the one.
what do you mean by a "feed link", do you just mean the link in your signature? Im a bit new around here UPDATE: Nevermind, I found it after 10 minutes of looking around, lol
if i am not wrong the search engine bots also hits the page that is crawls the content for indexing isnt that considered in hits/page views ???
Damn, I guess I cant use the feed, my blog uses b2evolution... *cries* Update: it took me a few hours but I switched to wordpress I like it alot better so far.
