Hi, on my site http://www.mangapimps.com I have an adsense module that shows up on every page at the top of the content, however I get almost no clicks and usually average 5-7 cents per day. My site has been around for a year and I'm still under $50 total. Is there something wrong with my ad placement? colors? niche? I have no idea how the rates are for the anime/manga group. Thanks.
468X60 is one of the worst performing sizes, user the 300x250 or something and put it between posts...maybe a horizontal link unit in place of the current ad...maybe change the heading solor to the same color as your sites links? Perhaps...doesn't hurt to try. Make the header shorter too, it's over half the height of the first fold...WAY too big. The whole row with your tital in it should go, complete wasted space, make that go away, or put a 728x90 leaderboard in there.
i'm redesigning the site at the moment, so I guess I'll just try different colors and sizes for now. Thanks for the fold tip. I forget about different aspect ratios on monitors. The header is no where close to that size in the new design, hopefully it should help : ]
a header shouldn't take up more than 100-150 pixels at the top...more than that is a waste...remember the lost used res currently is 1024x768...or last I checked anyway...design with that in mind.
Sometimes its not your fault, its just that adsense doesn't work with all sites no matter how hard you try. What other forms of revenue streams have you tried?
Make the background color of the ad the same as the site, use the big block ads in the articles you write.
you gotta flood your site with adsense, not just one line or one banner. From what I saw, there wasn't very much adsense in there, and I had a hard time wondering what was paid or not...i couldn't even click on anything if i tried
I have tried adbrite once, that sucked a lot though. Didnt get anything It can be done on my kind of site...I'm just an amateur in the adsense world. I basically plopped one ad on the site having almost no idea if it would do anything or not. I wasn't even considering colors, size or anything. Thanks for the input.
It also depends on traffic, quality of traffic and so much more, Can you give us some stats about your site.?
I see almost no ads at your site. You should put at the place of those images 300*250 ads, they would have a good CTR. And those link ads don't pay good at all(at least at my sites they didn't). Just try to get your CTR higher by putting more ads and blending them better with your content(like matching title colors and text colors).
sure. here are the base stats for one day. Successful requests: 125,254 Average successful requests per day: 41,057 Successful requests for pages: 70,374 Average successful requests for pages per day: 23,067 Failed requests: 58,739 Redirected requests: 11 Distinct files requested: 3,242 Distinct hosts served: 1,727 Data transferred: 113.05 gigabytes Average data transferred per day: 37.06 gigabytes so about 1700 unique visitors per day.
Hey I actually had a hard time finding the ads LOL I dont think a rotator is legal is it? Anyways take the rotator out thats dumb Make it a leaderboard and have the same text as your writting! Put a large rectangle in the middle of all your content, but remember NO BORDERS and same background color and exact same text color! Tyler
change the ads colour frequently and research in your own.I f you got more clicks after changing the ads colour and size you will realise the tricks.
it is amazing the difference a well placed ad can generate revenue i added a text link ad to the top of my main page and got rid of the border around the other and i noticed imrovement i might be only getting 15 - 30cents per click still but clicks are rising
The ads aren't very well placed, I have to admit though, I visited your site before and the layout was great, this one is good as well XD. Well try and give your ads more attention.., e.g : http://mangapimps.com/reviews/index.php ,under that list , though they seem well placed, how are you adding the adverts into joomla ? Using a module, or directly in your template ?
The ad placement and sizes is the problem. I used to run a site similar to what you have, and used to get over 35% CTR. The other problem though is that I never got anything higher than 7-9 cents per click, so while you may get higher CTR, don't look to break the bank on that sort of site. With these sort of low payouts from adsense, I'd try CJ or Amazon associates to monetize, and start selling related product.
