I depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Given your situation, I would personally take the coop weight but it really does depend.

I thinks DP has a more measured weight determination system. A few months ago I had a site that had about 3700 vaults and when I brought the site over here it had 700 in COOP weight . The opposite of your situation. At least with DP you are aware (somewhat) of how weight is determined....through the API tool. At LV it is a mystery (to me)!

Possibly the extra vaultage there was due to PR of inner pages. A PR5 site with 10 or so internal PR5s (but not a huge overall page count) would give good vaultage but poor co-op weight.

take the coop and bust out 5-10 sites, divide the coop weight between them, and then use them for link vaultage

then you don't have to choose

Will go for coop only. Link vault is damn slow so i never liked. Once i used link vault and my links were supposed to be on relevant sites but when i checked my logs of hits coming from then i saw my article site was listed in some sports site lol and ofcourse linkvault is really slow.

I like the fact that you can throttle the link placement. You can take any worry of gaining link placement to quickly out of the mix.

But they are sooo slow, I added one site yesterday and I am still waiting to see how much "vaultage" it will have. When it was in the Co-op it had over 1000 weight and I knew right away. Waiting 24-48 hours just seems too long

Slow? Who cares, you know if you crawl your site and run the client application you will get vaulage quicker.

The point on the system is not quick growth but throttled growth of static link. You need patience in business, even when its on the internet. If you can't plan and wait a day, businses is not going to be for you.

That is the beauty of link vault. It does take patience and time to get results. I adovcate using both really to get a good base of links in additional to gaining a base of relevant links.
